Intoxicated man set his bike on fire in front of a police station in Delhi's Khan market area on Tuesday. He also threw stones and bricks at the police station, breaking property, news agency IANS reported. 


The suspect, Nadeem, a Hauz Rani resident, was apprehended right away.






A call reporting the burning of a bike in front of a police post (chowki) at Khan Market was received at Tughlak Road Police Station around 7.30 am on Tuesday, according to a senior police official.


"Police team immediately reached the spot and found Nadeem under the influence of liquor and he was also very aggressive, however, the police team overpowered him," IANS quoted him as saying. 


"He used bricks to break the window panes on three sides of the police station. He even set fire to his bike and police standees," police stated further. 


"The accused has been arrested and taken into custody. An investigation is underway "police officers added.

"A case under section 436 (mischief by fire or any explosive substance), 285 (negligent conduct), 278 (making atmosphere noxious to health), 283 (causing danger, obstruction or, injury in any public way or line of navigation) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and 3/4 prevention of damage to public property Act has been registered,"  police said.


According to sources, Nadeem recently married. However, the marriage failed for various reasons, leaving him stressed and angry, IANS reported.
