New Delhi: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has eased the weekend curfew for Sunday to allow devotees to visit Gurdwaras on the occasion of Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh.
As per the yellow alert issued in Delhi according to the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to curb the spread of covid-19 cases in the city, the DDMA had allowed religious places to remain open but no devotees were supposed to visit the place.
However, for one day, the devotees visited gurdwaras in complete adherence to the covid appropriate behaviour.
“I am directed to convey the concurrence of the competent authority that the devotees will be allowed to visit gurdwaras of Delhi on the occasion of Prakash Purab of Guru Govind Singh Ji to be held on January 9, subject to the strict compliance of instructions or guidelines of the government of India and the government of NCT of Delhi issued from time to time,” the order issued by DDMA Additional CEO Rajesh Goyal said.
Covid norms such as masks and maintenance of social distancing are mandatory. Besides, the arrangements for thermal screening, sanitisation, and staggered timings have to be made among other precautions.
The order further said that it is the duty of all district magistrates to ensure that rules and regulations issued by the center and the Delhi government are strictly complied with by the visitors and the gurdwara management committees.
Delhi recorded more than 20,000 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 513 Omicron cases.
