New Delhi: In a brazen defiance of law in national capital Delhi, a group of unidentified people allegedly opened fire near Mori Gate, Kucha Mohtar Khan Area. Also Read | Jammu & Kashmir: Unknown Gunmen Shot Dead Physically Challenged Man In Pulwama

The incident took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday at around 12:30 am. They barged into houses, vandalized vehicles and shot few rounds in air.

Quoting Delhi Police, news agency ANI reported that the Initial probe revealed that a group of miscreants vandalised vehicles and fired few rounds in air in Mori Gate area last night, while they were searching for some men of another group.


A clash had taken place between the two groups earlier. A probe has been launched by police in this direction.

It is alleged that a teenager was beaten up by another group, who then informed his friends about the incident after which, the rival gang came to Mori Gate area looking for the person who started the fight.

The accused group of boys opened few rounds of fire in the air to mark their presence. They were around 15 to 20 in number.  Reportedly, they accused also vandalised the bikes, autorickshaws and cars parked in the area.

After hearing the sound of bullets, the residents took shelter inside their homes and tried to save themselves. It is alleged that the men also forcefully barged inside the houses in the locality.

In the visuals from ground report, vandalized vehicles and shells of bullets could easily be seen.
