New Delhi: Delhi recorded over 19,000 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, thereby breaking the record of the highest single-day tally of infections in the national capital.


This came as Delhi recorded 19,486 new cases, 141 fatalities and 12,649 recoveries in the last 24 hours.



There are 8,03,623 total cases in Delhi, including 61,005 active cases. Around 7,30,825 people have so far recovered from Covid-19 while another 11,793 have succumbed to the virus.

Earlier on Wednesday, Delhi recorded 17,282 fresh cases.


In the wake of an unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases in Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal chaired a review meeting on the Covid-19 enforcement.


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also chaired a meeting to discuss the future course of action amid the surge in Covid-19 cases.

Besides, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain too chaired a meeting with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) of Maulana Azad Medical College and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital on Covid-19.


The Delhi Government has issued helpline numbers 1031 and 1800-111747 for Covid-19 positive patients besides issuing 24/7 control room numbers – 22391014, 22302441, 22304568, 22300012 and 22300036.
