New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched the transport department’s faceless services that can be availed online by the people in the national capital.


Kejriwal also put a lock on the gate of one of the offices of the transport department and stated that people can now get their work done online.


“Locked this office of the Transport Department and started its faceless services. Now you do not need to go to RTO offices and stand in lines there.  From learning license to getting vehicle registration certificate, you will now be able to get all works related to the transport department done online sitting at home,” he said in a tweet posted in Hindi.

Launching the initiative, earlier said it is a significant step towards India of the 21st century and added all transport related services can now be availed without visiting the transport offices, taking leave or surrendering to middlemen.


Asserting that people used to be extremely tensed prior to 2015 when they had to get any work done related to the transport department, Kejriwal said this initiative by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will help the people in getting rid of middlemen, bribery and long queues.

Under the faceless services of transport department, the Delhiites will be able to apply and get various transport-related documents like registration certificates as well as undertake learner’s driving license test online from their homes without visiting a motor licensing office (MLO).
