Politics On Chhath Puja: Authorities have now approved Chhath Puja celebrations in Delhi. Delhi Disaster Management Authority has also issued formal orders in regards to this. However, DDMA has not permitted holding Chhath Puja celebrations at Yamuna Ghat. Now, BJP and AAP are now at loggerheads regarding this issue. While BJP is targeting AAP ruled Delhi government for its directive not to hold Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat, AAP is blaming the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi for this decision.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari takes jibe at Kejriwal:

BJP MP from Delhi Manoj Tiwari issued a statement saying, "Kejriwal is Anti-Hindu. I am shocked to know that the Delhi government has again imposed a ban on celebrating Chhath Puja on the banks of Yamuna. This is like playing with the faith of Purvanchalis". Manoj Tiwari added, "Arvind Kejriwal's anti-Hindu policy is coming to the fore. If permission cannot be given, why give false hope about it? We, as Purvanchalis, reject this restriction. They first banned Chhath Puja and then after 20 days, they say that it cannot be celebrated on the banks of Yamuna. Why are they so biased? This is a sheer atrocity and we oppose it.

AAP cleans up:

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Burari and Purvanchal wing in-charge Sanjeev Jha tweeted, "DDMA order says that Chhath will not be celebrated on the banks of Yamuna. We request the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to withdraw this order immediately and instruct our officers to prepare for Chhath Puja on the banks of Yamuna."

Earlier, BJP and AAP were accusing each other after DDMA took the decision of banning Chhath Puja in public places. This was followed by a DDMA meeting held on Wednesday, where Chhath Puja celebrations in public were approved. However, the DDMA order says that no site would be made for organizing Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat, a decision which has once again taken a political turn.
