New Delhi: A blast occurred in a building in Chhatarpur area in South Delhi due to LPG cylinder leakage on Thursday evening, reported news agency ANI. According to the report, three people have been injured in the blast and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
As per the ANI report, the second and third floor of the building have been damaged in the blast due to the LPG leakage. A total of five fire tenders have been rushed to the spot and rescue operation is underway, the report said, adding that some people are feared to be trapped inside, as per the Delhi Fire Service officials.
According to Delhi Fire Services, a fire call was received about a blast that led to the collapse of a house at C Block, Phase 1 area of Rajpur in Chhattarpur area.
In a similar incident earlier this month, five members of a family, including a two-year-old child, have been injured, two of them critically, after a domestic LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Nath Sahi village in Jaipur.
According to reports, the fire broke out in the kitchen that soon spread to other parts in the house injuring the family members. Two of the critically injured ones sustained 80 per cent burn injuries, the reports said.
In another incident, the owner and an employee sustained severe burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded in their eatery in Pune earlier this month.
