Uttar Pradesh: As Bharatiya Janta Party leaders have laid their entire focus on ‘mission dalits’, where party ministers, leaders, MPs and MLAs have been spending nights in Dalit villages and have been eating in their houses, one of the party MPs consider this as “insult of Dalits”.

Party MP from Uttar Pradesh Savitri Bai Phule raised questions on her party leaders eating in Dalit homes for the heck of getting pictures clicked and stated the same as ‘disrespect’.

“Leaders go to Dalit houses, eat in their house for photo-ops, but the food prepared is made by a person from upper caste, also the plates are also not from the Dalit’s house” she said.

“No one takes pictures when eating in an upper caste person’s house, then why take picture while eating in Dalit house?” she questioned.

“Doing all this just for the sake of taking pictures is an insult of Dalits” she said.

This comes after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spent a night in Dalit village on April 26 and also ate in their house. The same was being seen as attempt by party to fix relations with Dalits and pacify them after their nation-wide agitation.
