New Delhi: To probe the charges of rape on the self-styled guru Daati Maharaj levlled by his own female disciple, the police brought the 25-year-old victim to the Shani Dham Ashram in New Delhi on Thursday.
It is also likely that the police may take the girl to Pali in Rajasthan today to further investigate the accusations.
Questioning the police action in the case, the women’s commission has asked reasons behind not arresting the Daati Maharaj yet.
The victim, had leveled rape allegations on Daati Maharaj on two locations - Delhi’s Fatehpuri Beri where he has his registered office in Mehrauli locality and in the Pali ashram in Rajasthan two years ago. As per reports, because of fear and social stigma, the victim did not file a complaint earlier.
Daati Maharaj has however categorically denied the allegations of sexually assaulting his own female disciple and has said that he will fully co-operate the police in the probe.
“I will fully cooperate in the investigation" he said in an exclusive interview with ABP News. He also said that 'this is a conspiracy against me'.
He also claimed that he sponsored her education as well, saying her father had left her and her brother with him and he made the complainant enroll in a B(CA) programme; and thereafter he further said that he also made her do an M(CA).
