Karnataka High Court on Friday granted bail to BJP leader CT Ravi. CT Ravi was arrested for allegedly using a derogatory word against Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Thursday. The FIR was registered against the MLC based on the Minister's complaint.  


According to ANI, Karnataka High Court grants bail to BJP leader CT Ravi.


On Karnataka HC granted him bail, BJP MLC CT Ravi said, "Our custodian is the Chairman, when our custodian clearly said and gave the decision, despite that a false case was filed against me and they treated me like a terrorist, they should introspect what they have done, I am not well because I did not eat properly last night and in the morning. This is the victory of truth, this order of the High Court has a clear message that we all should follow the law."

In a video statement, Ravi alleged that he was taken to Khanapura police station without being informed of the reason. He further claimed that the police have refused to register his complaint or even a zero FIR.


In response, the leader had filed a counter-complaint against Hebbalkar, Chamaraja Hattiholi, DK Shivakumar, Saddam, and others, accusing them of attempting to kill him by attacking him within the legislature premises.


Earlier, the BJP leader was booked under Sections 75 (sexual harassment) and 79 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to a senior police officer.
