New Delhi: The national capital on Friday logged 1,979 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours with one person succumbing to the infectio n as per the bulletin shared by the health department. Positivity rate rose to 8.18 percent as the the city recorded more than 1,300 cases for third consecutive day.


The capital has logged more than 1,000 daily cases for the fourth day on the trot.


Adding up the fresh cases reported in last 24 hours, Delhi's cumulative cases have reached 19,19,025 while the death toll rose to 26,226, the department said in its latest bulletin.






Covid-19 Cases In Maharashtra 


Maharashtra on Friday logged 4,165 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours witnessing a slight plunge than yesterday when the state recorded 4,255 infections. While 3,047 cases were reported recovered, three people succumbed to the infection. 


Active cases in Maharashtra currently stand at 21,749 with every district in the state having active coronavirus patients. The Covid-19 caseload rose to 79,27,862, and the death toll reached 1,47,883. Cumulative recovery cases in the state reached 77,58,230 and recovery rate stood at 97.86 percent. 


As many as 44,483 coronavirus tests were conducted since the previous evening, which took the total of tests conducted so far in the state to 8,15,17,399.


Covid-19 Cases In Mumbai


In the state capital Mumbai 2,255 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours with two deaths, said a civic official, reported news agency PTI. The metropolis right now has 13,304 active cases with an overall caseload at 10,90,503






The two deaths reported in the previous 24 hours has taken the city's death toll to 19,580. 


On Thursday, the financial capital had reported 2,366 cases of the coronavirus while on Wednesday the tally was 2,293. 


For the third time this week, the test positivity rate in Mumbai was above 15 per cent at 15.39 per cent. Of 2,255 new cases, only 110 patients were admitted to hospitals, with 16 needing oxygen support. Of total 13,304 active patients in the city, 76 are on oxygen support.
