Covid Unlock Criteria: Relaxations Only If 70% People Of A District Are Vaccinated, Suggests Govt

For the 19th consecutive day, the number of people recovering from the virus remains to be higher than cases of infestation forcing recovery rate to surge by over 92 per cent.

New Delhi: As of May 31, out of 344 of India's 718 districts, the lowest confirmed rate of infection is less than 5 per cent. The Government of India said relaxations in curfew restrictions could be announced in districts where 70 of the most vulnerable beneficiaries under the vaccination program were vaccinated.

As of May 31, the rate of confirmed infection (Positivity Rate) in 344 of India's 718 districts is less than 5%. On May 7, only 92 districts witnessed this trend. In India, the number of daily coronavirus infections continue to decline. For the 19th consecutive day, the number of people recovering from the virus remains to be higher than cases of infestation. Due to this, the rate of recovery has continued to increase to 92.09 per cent.

For the past 8 days, the daily corona prevalence level has remained below 10 per cent. The weekly impact rate is 8.64 per cent and the growth rate of bi-weekly corona prevalence is negative.

While speaking to media, Balram Bhargava, chairman of the Indian Medical Research Council, said, "The implementation of strict restrictions and regulations in district-level control zones has worked well. But this is not a permanent solution. Moreover, we should also formulate regulations implementing relaxations. There are three pillars in analog work: the rate of people confirmed in infection (Positivity rate), the proportion of vaccinated people in corona-at-risk beneficiaries, and the adoption of the correct pattern of corona behavior."

Number of vaccine recipients:

More than 21 crore beneficiaries in India have been vaccinated against corona as of now, including 99 lakh health workers who took preventive medicine in the first phase, 68 lakh health workers who were vaccinated in the second phase, more than 2 crore pre-field workers who received the first vaccine and 85 lakh front-field workers who received the second dose.

In India, everyone over the age of 45 has been vaccinated since April 1. So far, 12 crores 53 lakh people over the age of 45 have been given the first dose and 2 crores 95 lakh second dose.
