New Delhi: Amid fears of a third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, several states, including Maharashtra, have extended the Covid-19 curbs as a precautionary measure.  


Here's all you need to know about the COVID-19 restrictions enforced in different states.


Maharashtra:


Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led government had earlier on August 3 announced further relaxations in Covid-19 curbs in 25 districts showing a low positivity rate of the infection.

Maharashtra also extended the existing business timings of shops and allowed shopping malls to operate in these districts.


The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had also decided to allow all shops and establishments under its limits to remain open till 10 p.m. on all days and approved the resumption of shooting for films and television serials besides sports activities.


The restaurants and hotels can, however, function only till 4 p.m.


Karnataka:


Karnataka extended the night curfew, which was earlier from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The night curfew will be implemented from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai made this announcement after a meeting with the Covid-19 advisory committee and other senior officials.


The state government has also extended the weekend curfew in the border districts of Kerala and Maharashtra. The weekend curfew, beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday till 5 a.m. on Monday, has been imposed in the eight border districts of Mysuru, Kodagu, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada, Kalaburgi, Chamarajanagara, Bidar and Vijayapura.


The state government has also announced to reopen schools for Classes 9 to 12 from August 23 with classes on alternate days.


Haryana:


Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar-led government had earlier extended the Covid-induced lockdown till August 9.


However, the existing lockdown relaxations on reopening of shops, malls, restaurants, religious places and corporate offices will continue to remain.


Besides, the Anganwadi centres and crèches run by the women and child development department shall remain closed till August 15.


The state government has also advised the Vice Chancellors of universities to plan reopening of the universities from the next academic session and share the programme of the same.


Tamil Nadu:


Earlier on Friday, Tamil Nadu extended the Covid-19 lockdown till August 23 and announced that schools for select standards would be opened starting next month.


The state government plans to reopen schools for Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 from September 1 with 50 percent attendance of the students under strict Covid-compliance.


Tamil Nadu has also imposed fresh curbs on religious places. As per the decision, all religious places will be shut for three days in a week beginning Friday.


Goa:


The Goa government has extended the ongoing coronavirus-induced curfew till August 9.


Issuing the extension order, the administration said all Covid-related curbs will continue in the state and no fresh relaxation has been granted.


The previous curfew deadline in the state was scheduled to end on August 2.

The order from the respective governments comes as Kerala has been continuously reporting an increase in Covid-19 cases, triggering concerns across the country.
