New Delhi: Amid rising Covid-19 cases in schools, the Delhi government Friday issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for school authorities to follow in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
According to the new SOP, the school authorities have to prepare a quarantine room in their premises and teachers have to daily confirm with students about any Covid related symptoms.
It also mentioned that head of schools have to ensure that all teaching non teaching staff as well as support staff including eligible students are vaccinated.
The school authorities were also asked to ensure regular sanitisation, wearing of masks by students and to see that there is no gathering after classes for which separate exit gates should be used.
Adequate stock of key supplies like thermal scanners, sanitizers, disinfectants, masks and running water in washrooms should also be taken care of by the school administration.
Meanwhile, India reported 2,451 new coronavirus cases on Friday which took the active caseload to 14,241, according to the Union Health Ministry data. Within the span of 24 hours, the active caseload increased by 808.
The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded as 98.75 per cent, according to the ministry data.
