New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, on Saturday targeted the Centre over India’s ranking in the latest Happiness Report saying that India would soon “top hate and anger charts.”
Taking to Twitter, Rahul wrote, “Hunger Rank: 101; Freedom Rank: 119; Happiness Rank: 136. But, we may soon top the Hate and Anger charts!”
The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) publishes the latest World Happiness Report where 150 countries were ranked on several parameters such as sense of well-being, GDP per capita, social support system, life expectancy, generosity, liberty to make life choices and perceptions of corruption, etc.
In the latest World Happiness Report published by the UNSDSN, Finland found the top spot, while Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Israel and New Zealand were ranked subsequently in the top 10 of the list.

India imoroved its position a bit and moved three places up from last year in this year’s Happiness Report. Last year India ranked 139th while this year it moved a little up to 136th position.
Neighbouring countries Nepal ranked 84th, Bangladesh ranked 94th , Pakistan was at 121, and Sri Lanka ranked 127th in this year’s Happiness Report.
The United States ranked 16th, the United Kingdom ranked 17th and France secured 20th position in the said report.
