Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state from the deadly virus with a total of 2,92,589 cases and 11,452 fatalities. Tamil Nadu has a tally of 1,60,907 cases and 2,315 deaths due to COVID-19, Delhi has reported a total of 1,20,107 cases and 3,571 deaths due to the virus.
Around 184 new cases and four deaths are reported in Rajasthan on Saturday. Total number of cases in the state is now at 27,973, including 6,737 active cases & 550 deaths, as per the State Health Department.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said 1,34,33,742 samples were tested for the infection till Friday. Out of them 3,61,024 samples were tested on Friday.
While criticising the government in handling the pandemic, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said if the numbers keep increasing at the current pace then there will be more than 20 lakh cases by August 10.

According to the Worldometer, almost 14.1 million people around the world have been diagnosed with Covid-19, while more than 8,441,846 have recovered, 598,508 have died.
The United States recorded over 74,000 cases in a day. It now has 3,769,276 covid-19 cases and 142,035 deaths. Brazil has 2,048,697 cases, deaths 77,932 and India (1,040,457 cases, 26,285 deaths).
