According to the health ministry data, the total number of recoveries jumped to 10,57,805 while the death toll rose to 35,747 with 779 fatalities being recorded in a day. The fatality from covid currently stands at 2.18 per cent in India as compared to the global average of about 4 per cent. Around 6,42,588 people were tested for the virus on Thursday. With 6,42,588 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the cumulative testing stands at 1,88,32,970, as per ICMR.
Around 16 states and UTs, including Delhi, Gujarat Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh, have a Covid-19 recovery rate higher than the national average of 64.44 per cent.
Maharasthra remains at the top to record maximum cases at 4,11,798, followed by Tamil Nadu with 2,39,978 cases and Delhi with 1,34,403 cases. There are 12 states and UTs, which have reported more than 35,000 confirmed cases so far. According to MoHFW data, around 12 states and UTS recorded 3,000 to 35000 cases which include Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab and others. While regions such as Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and others have recorded below 3,000 cases so far.
