New Delhi: India on Sunday reported 1,421 fresh COVID-19 cases, 1,826 recoveries, and149 deaths in the last 24 hours.


The new coronavirus infections took India's total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,19,453, while the active cases dipped to 16,187.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,21,004 with the fresh fatalities.


The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.75 per cent.


The daily positivity rate is 0.23 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.27 per cent.


The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,24,82,262.


The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 183.20 crores so far, according to the ministry data.


Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi


Kerala reported 496 new COVID-19 cases and 141 virus-related deaths on Saturday taking the total number of people affected in the state to 65,30,690 and the death toll to 67,772, respectively.


Of the 141 deaths, three occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 138 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court.


693 people recuperated from the disease on Saturday taking the total cured in the state to 64,57,993.


On the other hand, Maharashtra on Saturday reported 138 new COVID-19 cases but no pandemic-related death.

On Friday, the state had recorded 275 cases and two deaths.

The caseload in the state rose to 78,73,369, while the death toll remained unchanged at 1,47,779.

With 137 people recovering during the day, the tally of recovered patients rose to 77,24,697.

There are now 893 active cases in Maharashtra.


Meanwhile, Delhi on Saturday reported 120 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero death, while the positivity rate stood at 0.44 per cent.


With 120 fresh cases, the national capital's case count increased to 18,64,478 while the death toll stood at 26,150, the latest health bulletin stated.


On multiple days in March, the city has recorded zero fatality count.


The number of daily cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching the record high of 28,867 on January 13.
