Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya concluded the Covid review meeting with health ministers of state and Union Territories on Friday afternoon and has asked them to hold review meetings to check infrastructure, ramp up testing and be prepared amid rise in cases. He has also asked the state governments to not spread any unnecessary fear among the citizens.


Mandaviya had a discussion on Covid testing and genome sequencing during the meeting and also said that they have to make the citizens aware of the suggested Covid rules and ask them to follow them. 






The Union Health Minister has announced that nationwide Covid mock drills will be conducted on April 10 and 11 to check the preparedness of all hospital infrastructures. He has also asked all the state governments to stay alert.






India recorded 6,050 positive cases of Coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The tally of active cases now stands at 28,303.


Fourteen deaths were recorded nationwide in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus. Three out of 14 were reported from Maharashtra, two each from Karnataka and Rajasthan, one each from Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab, and one was reconciled by Kerala. The daily positivity rate stood at 3.39 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.02 percent, reported PTI.
