Kanpur: In the backdrop of significant rise in Coronavirus cases and to avoid community transfer of the deadly disease, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanatha-led state government has decided to ‘completely seal’ Coronavirus hotspots identified in 15 districts of the state starting today midnight till April 15 in an attempt to avoid the community spread of Coronavirus.


These 15 districts are - Gautambuddh Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Shamli, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Bulandhshahr, Bareilly, Basti, Maharajganj, and Sitapur.

The Six pockets in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh have been reported 'red zones' after six Tablighi Jamaat members, including two foreign nationals, who attended a congregation in New Delhi and visited several places and tested positive for coronavirus infection.

Speaking on sealing the hot spot zones, DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi said, “A cluster has been created in the affected hotspots and sanitation drive will start soon. Passes issued here will be canceled. People will not come out at these places. The exit of people in these areas will be banned. The logo will be marked. By barricading they will be made zero zones and they will be provided 100 percent of doorstep delivery.

All grocery and vegetable shops, petrol pumps, banks and ATMs will remain closed in the hotspot areas.

He further said 104 hot spots in those 15 districts have been identified.
