New Delhi: The novel Coronavirus outbreak is wreaking havoc globally. To combat COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a lockdown of 21 days however there are people who aren't staying at their home and are breaking rules. The owner of famous Irani restaurant 'Koolar & Co' was recently detained by the police in Matunga, Mumbai, for allegedly driving his private vehicle with an ambulance siren on it.


A video of 'Koolar & Co' owner, identified as Ali Koolar', recently went viral on social media, in which he's seen roaming around in his car with siren mocking the Coronavirus crisis. Ali and his friend, who shot the video, can be heard laughing in it. Ali Koolar was then detained by the local police.

The person is detained and inquiry is going on. Subsequent suitable action will be taken accordingly,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Saurabh Tripathi said in a statement.

On a related note, Ali Koolar's cafe 'Koolar & Co' also has a Bollywood connection. Shooting of few scenes of Bollywood films like Sanjay Dutt's 'Vaastav', 'Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt's 'Gully Boy' and Irrfan Khan's 'The Lunchbox' took place in 'Koolar & Co.'
