New Delhi: Union minister for women and child development Smriti Irani took to Instagram demonstrating how to make a face mask sitting at home.  In a series of photos, the minister on her official Instagram account has given a tutorial in which the steps from cutting cloth to stitching have been uploaded for making a homemade mask.

The leader is seen stitching the mask with the help of a needle creating awareness around the importance of face masks saying “ghar bethe mask banao”. She captioned one of the picture saying, “Machine nahi to sui dhaghe se kaam chalao”. The four images depict how a simple mask can be made at home during the lockdown as a preventive measure to contain the spread of infection from the deadly virus.

She has a large number of Instagram followers and the message will have a bigger impact on Instagram users. Her posts on Instagram come at a time when the country is grappling to control the spread of Covid 19.

The country has seen a spurt in  cases this week with the total number of positive cases escalating to reach an alarming figure of 6412 on Friday morning, while the number of those dead from the virus reached 199

The Delhi government on Thursday updated the list of hotspots in the national capital adding a few more places taking the total number of high-risk COVID-19 areas to 25. The initial list which had 20 hotspots was released by the government on Wednesday while on Thursday five more places were identified as hotspots.
