Though Central govt. is also helping us, the severity of corona is such that all available resources are proving inadequate," Kejriwal said.

PM Modi exempts Custom duty on oxygen, related equipments

The Government of India decided on April 24 to grant full exemption from basic customs duty and health cess on the import of the following items related to oxygen and oxygen-related equipment for a period of three months with immediate effect.

Oxygen concentrators along with flow meter, regulator, connectors, and tubing

Shortage of oxygen at Sir Ganga Ram and Fortis Hospital in Delhi

Hospitals in the national capital are overwhelmed with the oxygen crisis. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi is only left with 4-5 hrs of oxygen and Fortis Hospital at Shalimar Bagh has stopping patients anymore due to scarcity of the medical gas. Delhi High Court is hearing a plea by the state govt over the same matter.

Covid Vaccine procurement price remains Rs 150/per dose

 The government of India’s procurement price for both COVID19 vaccines remains Rs 150 per dose. GOI procured doses will continue to be provided totally free to States, stated the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

COVID-19 Second Wave In India Likely To Peak By Mid-May, Predict Scientists At IIT

The ongoing second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India may peak between May 11-15 with 33-35 lakh total 'active'' cases and decline steeply by the end of May, according to a mathematical module devised by IIT scientists.


On Friday, India saw a single-day rise of 3,32,730 (3.32 lakh) COVID-19 infections and 2,263 fatalities with 24,28,616 (24.28 lakh) active cases.


In predicting that the active cases would go up by about 10 lakh by mid-May before sliding, scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur and Hyderabad applied the 'Susceptible, Undetected, Tested (positive), and Removed Approach'' (SUTRA) model.

Coronavirus HIGHLIGHTS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reviewed the situation arising out of the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country and directed measures to augment the supply of oxygen for medical purposes amid complaints of shortage by several states. Shah directed an expert group to optimise and rationalise the allocation of oxygen to various states and UTs according to the needs.


Delhi on Friday recorded 24,331 new coronavirus cases and 348 Covid-19 related deaths amid a severe crisis of oxygen and hospital beds in the city. Delhi has a positivity rate of 32 per cent 92,000 active cases. Maharashtra too saw a record spike in the death toll with 773 covid deaths. The state, another among the worst hit, saw 66,836 new cases.
