High-Level Public Health Teams Sent To States

As per news agency ANI, the Centre has rushed 50 high-level public health teams to Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Punjab for COVID-19 control and containment measures.

47000 New Coronavirus Cases In Maharashtra

Maharashtra has reported 47,288 new COVID-19 cases and recorded 155 deaths.

HD Deve Gowda Recovers From COVID-19

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has been discharged from the hospital on Monday where he was undergoing treatment for contracting coronavirus. JD(S) tweeted about its patriarch's discharge from the Manipal Hospital. The 87-year-old leader too tweeted stating that he and his wife Chennamma, who were hospitalised on March 31, were on their path to recovery. "When my wife and I fell ill recently, people from all walks of life, leaders from across parties, friends, colleagues and party workers showed us warmth and wished us well. We are deeply indebted to everybody. Thank you. By the grace of God, we are on our path to recovery," Gowda tweeted.

Delhi Reports Over 3500 New COVID Cases

As per the latest report, Delhi recorded 3,548 fresh coronavirus cases and 15 more deaths were reported due to COVID-19

Mumbai reported 9,857 coronavirus cases and 21 deaths on Monday.

Tamil Nadu: 3,672 New COVID-19 Cases

A day before the state assembly polls, Tamil Nadu has reported 3,672 new coronavirus cases and reported 11 deaths.

Politics Over COVID Vaccination

Raghav Chadha of the Aam Admi Party (AAP) has questioned the centre's policy on exporting covid-19 vaccines. He accused that the central government exported more vaccine doses than it administered to its own citizens. "To improve his image at global level, PM Modi took the decision & exported over 64.5 million vaccine doses to 84 countries," said Raghav Chadha.


He said, "Indian govt has signed some agreements, under which India will give 45million doses of vaccine to Pakistan. I want to ask the Prime Minister that, are the lives of our people less important than those of Pakistan?"

Round-The-Clock COVID-19 Vaccinations In Delhi

In order to increase the pace of the coronavirus vaccination drive, the Delhi government has decided to provide it round-the-clock at certain government hospitals. 1/3rd of the coronavirus vaccination centres in all Delhi Government hospitals will operate 24 hours from Tuesday. Currently, the vaccination drive was taking place from 9 AM to 9 PM.   

Polling Amid Growing Coronavirus Cases

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Aroa said that those voters affected and are under quarantine after contracting Coronavirus should not be disenfranchised. 

PM To Interact With CMs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Chief Ministers on 8th April, taking stock of the growing cases of COVID-19 cases and the arising grim situation. ANI informs PM Modi will also address vaccination-related issues during the video conferencing meeting.

Relax Age For Vaccination: Kejriwal

Delhi CM Kejriwal has urged the centre to relax the vaccination age further from 45 years and open it for all. Kejriwal claimed that if age norms are relaxed by the Centre then the Delhi Govt will be able to vaccinate all its citizens within 3 months.

Micro-Containment Zones In Delhi

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has informed that around 80,000 random tests are being conducted in Delhi. 86,899 random tests were done on Sunday. Micro-containment zones will be created at places where more than two cases of coronavirus are to be found, informed the Delhi Health Minister.

Rising Corona Cases In Delhi

With growing concern amid coronavirus cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting relaxation in conditions for opening vaccination centres as well as relaxation in the age limit for providing vaccination.

Union Health Ministry informed that 478 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus. 


Eight states, including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, have contributed majorly to the daily caseload.
