Mumbai: Two female Police officers in Mumbai, who were posted at Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's official residence, were tested positive for Coronavirus. According to reports, the two cops - an assistant police inspector and a constable - were deployed at CM's official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai's Malabar Hill area.

As per officials, the two cops were posted at Varsha for a day or two and were tested positive of Covid-19 on Sunday.

The Assistant Police Inspector (ASI), positioned at the Malabar Hill bungalow, has been hospitalized. Six police staff have been quarantined as a precautionary measure.

The Malabar Hill area in south Mumbai houses the official residences of many ministers. The swabs of policemen posted at significant places are being taken to alleviate the risk to ministers and dignitaries.

While the CM doesn't stay there, he has frequented the residence for official work quite a few times in the past few weeks. All his video conferencing and meets happen there as the house is equipped with all the technological facilities.

During this lockdown, even some of his cabinet ministers have been frequently visiting the residence for official purposes. All the other cops that came in contact with the positive female cop have been identified and are sent to quarantine.
