New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry on Thursday took to Twitter to inform that more than 115 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country. According to officials, more than 80 per cent of the country's eligible population has received the first dose of the vaccine, while 41 per cent of the population has received both doses.
In a tweet, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "The country is getting protected through vaccination every day. As India's vaccination coverage crosses the 115 crore mark, PM Narendra Modi ji's words ring true -- once Indians decide to do something, nothing is impossible!
"Har Ghar Dastak strengthening the world's largest vaccination drive!" he said.
The government recently had launched a month-long 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign to vaccinate those who have not yet received a single dose of the vaccine and those who need to take a second dose.
The Health Minister had recently said that more than 120 million people are yet to receive their second dose of the vaccine. He urged the health ministers of all the states to ensure that the adult population gets the first dose of anti-Covid vaccine under the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign and those who need to take the second dose are encouraged to do the same.
