Coronavirus Cases In India: 54,069 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. 68,885 patients recovered during the last 24 hours taking total recoveries across the country so far to the 2,90,63,740. 1321 infected persons succumbed to the disease.


Meanwhile, India's active caseload has declined to 6,27,057.


Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 42nd consecutive day.

The recovery rate has increased to 96.61%. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 3.04%.


The daily positivity rate is at 2.91%, less than 5% for 17 consecutive days.


30.16 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive after India administered 64.89 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.

Covid Situation In States


 A total of 39,78,32,667 samples tested up to 23rd June. Of which, 18,59,469 samples were tested yesterday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) informed.


After a gap of seven days, Maharashtra on Wednesday crossed the 10,000 single-day case mark and reported 10,066 Covid-19 infections, taking its tally to 59,97,587, said the state health department.


The state on June 16 had reported 10,107 cases and since then, the daily count has remained below 10,000.


Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday expressed concern over statewide daily cases not remaining below 7,000-8,000 on a consistent basis.


With 163 more deaths, the fatality count increased to 1,19,303, the health department said.


Out of them, 109 deaths occurred in the last 48 hours and 54 in the last week.


Deaths that took place more than a week's ago are being added to the cumulative tally as part of a data reconciliation exercise.


Under the exercise, 345 previously unreported deaths were added to the overall toll figure, the department said in a report.


The state's Covid-19 recovery rate is 95.93 per cent, while the case fatality rate is 1.99 per cent, the report said.


As many as 11,032 patients were discharged during the day, taking the number of recovered cases to 57,53,290 and leaving the state with 1,21,859 active cases, the department said.


The national capital reported 111 new Covid-19 cases, while its daily test positivity rate stood at 0.15 per cent, according to the health bulletin issued by the Delhi government.


With seven more deaths reported in the last 24 hours, Delhi's total death due to Covid rose to 24,940.


During the same time period, 702 people recovered from the disease, taking the national capital's total recoveries to 14,06,629 till date.


Delhi presently has 1,791 active cases, of which 522 are under home isolation.


A total of 76,185 Covid samples were tested in the last 24 hours, including 52,940 through RT-PCR and 23, 245through Rapid Antigen method.


Tamil Nadu on Wednesday reported 6,596 new Covid-19 infections and 166 deaths, taking the total numbers so far to 24,43,415 and 31,746 respectively.


Of the 166 fatalities, 57 were in private hospitals and 109 in government facilities.


The number of people who got discharged was 10,432 and recoveries till date increased to 23,58,785.


Active cases, including those in isolation, as of today stood at 52,884, according to a bulletin.


The Centre has alerted and advised Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh regarding the ‘Delta Plus variant of SARS-CoV-2, currently a variant of concern (VOC), which has been found in some districts of these states.


Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has communicated to these three states that the Delta Plus variant has been found in the genome sequenced samples received from Ratnagiri and Jalgaon districts in Maharashtra, Palakkad and Pathanamthitta districts in Kerala, and Bhopal and Shivpuri districts in Madhya Pradesh.
