Covid Tally In India: India has surpassed the 3.5 lakh mark for daily Covid cases which is the highest in the world. The country reported 3,52,991 new Covid-19 cases and 2,812 deaths in the last 24 hours.


 India reported 2,19,272 discharges in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.  So far, 17,313,163 cases and 195,123 deaths have been reported in India.

The active caseload in the country constituted 16.25% of the total positive cases so far and stood at 2,813,658, according to data from the Union health and family welfare ministry. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR, 1,402,367 samples were tested in the previous 24 hours for the disease while a cumulative of 279,321,177 samples have been tested so far in the country.



Maharashtra reported 66,191 infections, accounting for 20% of the new cases, followed by Uttar Pradesh (35,614) and Karnataka (34,804). Maharashtra also recorded 832 casualties, followed by Delhi (350) and Uttar Pradesh (208).


This was yet another day when India’s Covid-19 tally rose by record cases, as well as another day of the highest single day rise in infections globally since the beginning of the pandemic. India recorded more than 300,000 cases for the first time on April 22, with 314,835 infections being the-then highest in a single day anywhere in the world.


Globally, India recorded the most number of average daily deaths (2,817) until April 25. Brazil is the second highest in this category with, with 2,544 average daily fatalities
