New Delhi: Three fresh death cases from coronavirus were reported in India on Sunday as the nation observed Janata curfew in a bid to tackle the spread of disease. The three cases, one from Bihar, one from Gujarat and another from Maharashtra took the countrywide toll to 7. Total positive cases in  India jumped to 341 in India, including 24 recovered cases and 7 death cases.

Gujarat: One Covid-19 patient dies in Surat


One Covid-19 positive patient, aged 69 yrs, died on Sunday in Surat hospital. He was having co-morbid conditions, Health & Family Welfare Department, Gujarat stated.


The department stated that one female, 65 years, also died in Vadodara hospital but her test report for COVID is awaited. She was also having comorbid conditions.

Bihar reports first death case:


One person aged 38, was reported dead from Covid-19 in Patna at AIIMS.  The name of the person is Saif Ali and had travel history to Qatar. The death took place on Saturday. The death was confirmed by Sanjay Singh, Principal Secretary, Health Department, Government of Bihar.

‘CMR has confirmed 2 positive cases of Coronavirus. One patient passed away yesterday due to kidney failure, his tests have come positive for Coronavirus. A woman has also tested positive, she is admitted at AIIMS,’ said Bihar Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar.

Second death reported from Maharashtra:


Another COVID-19 patient passed away in Mumbai, taking the toll now to two in Maharashtra, officials said on Sunday. The patient was 63-year-old, he was admitted to the H N Reliance Hospital here on Saturday.

The Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation in a statement said the patient had chronic history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and ischemic heart disease.

He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome leading to his death, the statement said.

Earlier this week, another COVID-19 patient died in Mumbai.

With this, the toll has gone up to two in the state, with both deaths reported from Mumbai.

The total number of coronavirus positive patients in Maharashtra has risen to 74 with 10 more positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

Of the 10 new cases, six are in Mumbai and four in Pune, they said.
