The state has received 20,000 Covaxin doses, and 2,000 units of Covaxin has been distributed to each of the centres

The four medical faculties include JJ in Mumbai, authorities medical faculties in Nagpur, Aurangabad and Solapur — and two district hospitals in Pune and Amravati, as per the Times of India report. 

The state has acquired 9.63 lakh doses of Covishield and 20,000 doses of Covaxin.  
As per the report, the state’s head of immunisation Dr DN Patil said written consent can be sought from Covaxin beneficiaries at vaccination centres. 

The Bharat Biotech vaccine has been granted emergency approval below a ‘scientific trial mode’, which suggests consent of beneficiaries can be needed and they are going to be adopted up after vaccination. 

The vaccination has been mired in controversy with the drug regulator granting it an approval earlier than completion of Section III trials. 

Meanwhile, the company's Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Krishna Ella clarified its vaccine is safe and Bharat Biotech is conducting trials in over 12 countries besides India.

“We are not a company without experience in vaccines. We have tremendous experience in vaccines,” ANI quoted Ella as saying.
