Covid in India: India reports 39,796 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country's active caseload has declined to 4,82,071. India's active cases now constitute 1.58% of total cases.


While 42,352 patients recovered during last the 24 hours the total recoveries across the country so far amounts to 2,97,00,430.


Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 53rd consecutive day.


Recovery Rate increases to 97.11%. Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.40%


Daily positivity rate at 2.61%, less than 5% for 28 consecutive days.


The Indian Council of Medical Research41,97,77,457 samples tested for Covid 19 up to 4th July 2021. Of these, 15,22,504 samples were tested yesterday. 


After more than 100 days, Agra reported zero cases of Covid-19, bringing considerable relief to the overstressed medical infrastructure as the last few days saw only two or three cases.


According to officials, the total number of cases since March 2020 was 25,709. The total number of fatalities is 453. The number of active cases now is 63. So far 11,95,181 samples have been tested. The recovery rate stands at 97.99 per cent.


Vaccination Update


While the centre has said that vaccination drive has been ramped up in the entire country, many cities are still witnessing a crisis and amid a shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in Maharashtra, the Pune mayor said that the Covishield will not be available at any vaccination centre under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation today. However, Covaxin will be available at six centres with 200 doses each. Earlier on Thursday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had suspended the vaccination drive in Mumbai due to a shortage of stocks.


Also, according to a report by Hindustan Times, the Bihar government has changed its norms to vaccinate its population against coronavirus disease (Covid-19). According to the new guidelines, the Covid-19 vaccination will be carried out for four days in a week. Two days will be kept for regular vaccination, while no such activity will be carried out on Sunday.


According to the Bihar government order on Sunday, Covid-19 vaccination will be carried out in the state on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
