Having worked in an agency for several years I have come to believe that the larger problems we solve are all people related issues. Retaining talent, collaborating with colleagues, managing clients or managing a boss’s expectations - every one of these problems is people related in some way or the other. This has led me over the last few years to try and understand why we behave the way we do. My book is the summary of my learnings and in it I have looked at issues that most of us relate to, such as:
• Perceptions – since they are the main reason behind conflicts
• Growth - since our learning styles differ & often we are not aligned with our strengths
• Decisions – how we unknowingly lace them with our biases
• Habits & Willpower – as it is our control over little things that make us who we are
• Happiness – since it is after all every individual’s pursuit
• And finally, what it means to stay connected to oneself
My attempt through this book is to help an individual understand facets of his/her own self and explore the many reasons for why we think feel and act the way we do. As a professional executive coach certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Transactional Analysis I have leaned on various studies in the fields of neuroscience and psychology.
