New Delhi: The Congress party has taken a sarcastic jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent ‘litti chokha’ meal, which comes at a time when the atmosphere is politically charged for Bihar assembly elections. Through its official Twitter handle, the party has targeted Prime Minister over his choice of meal at Hunar Haat, Rajpath and has dubbed it as an electoral stunt.

In a cartoon depiction, it has shown the Prime Minister relishing 'Litti-Chokha' and the onlookers commenting that the names of forthcoming poll-bound states can be predicted by looking at the plate of the Prime Minister.

At Hunar Haat, Prime Minister interacted with artisans and relished 'litti-chokha' and 'kulhad' tea.

“Had tasty Litti Chokha for lunch along with a hot cup of tea... #HunarHaat,” PM tweeted with pictures, which soon went viral.

He shared the same picture on his Instagram account with the caption, "Had excellent Litti Chokha for lunch. Have you tried this delicacy?"

Amid a heated up political atmosphere, the photograph drew sharp reactions from  opposition leaders. RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav  tweeted: “Thank you respected PM for liking famous Bihari delicacy! Since Bihar CM can’t ask, I would like to draw your kind attention towards Bihar’s legitimate share pending since quite long: Special Status, Funds of special package, Flood relief fund, Funds of “Ayushman Bharat”

The prime minister, along with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, took a round of the 'Hunar Haat' and stopped at several stalls to interact with master craftsmen and artisans.

He tweeted several photographs from his visit to the Hunar Haat in which he is seen interacting with the artisans and appreciating the traditional handicrafts at various stalls.

Artisans participating in the event told Modi that traditional arts were dying, but the 'Hunar Haat' initiative had given a new lease of life to them.

Modi interacted with a specially-abled painter who benefited from the government's Hunar Haat initiative.

There was a surge in crowd when people came to know that the prime minister was visiting the event. Several people were seen taking selfies with Modi.
