'Minimum Qualification For Turncoats...': Congress Slams Ravneet Bittu For Calling Rahul Gandhi 'Terrorist'

The Congress party condemned BJP leader Bittu's remark calling Rahul Gandhi a "terrorist," accusing him of personal attacks to prove his loyalty to the BJP.

The Congress party has slammed Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravneet Singh Bittu for his "number one terrorist" remark on Rahul Gandhi and claimed the 'turncoat' leader made a 'bottom-tier personal' comment on the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha to prove that he follows the saffron party's ideology. 

Coming heavily on Bittu, Congress General Secretary  KC Venugopal said the "minimum qualification" required to become a minister in the BJP government is to make personal attacks on Rahul Gandhi.

"The minimum qualification to become a minister in the Modi government, especially for spineless Congress turncoats, is to make bottom-tier personal attacks on Rahul Gandhi. Not only that, this also shows the level of hatred and disdain that these BJP leaders harbour in their hearts and how little they respect the opposition," the Alapuzha MP said in a post on X.

On the other hand, Congress leader Tariq Anwar called the BJP leader's statement 'absurd'. He said, "Ravneet Bittu has just joined BJP from the Congress party and he wants to prove that he follows the ideology of BJP and is anti-Rahul Gandhi."

Reacting to Bittu's remarks, Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said the BJP leader should be ashamed of his comments as "he was made MP three times" by Rahul Gandhi.

"He did not know anything but despite this Rahul Gandhi made him MP three times and today he says that Rahul Gandhi is a terrorist. Rahul Gandhi will not become a terrorist by your saying but the people of the country are getting to know about your mentality and how ungrateful you are that you are saying anything to please your masters... Such politics is not good, people call it betrayal, ingratitude," Warring said. 

What Bittu Said?

Attacking Gandhi over the statements he made in the US about the condition of Sikhs in India, Union minister Bittu on Sunday said that if those manufacturing bombs were supporting Congress leader, he is the number one terrorist.

Speaking to reporters in Bihar's Bhagalpur Bittu said, "Rahul Gandhi spent most of his time outside the country. His friends and family are there. I think he does not love his country much because he goes abroad and says negative things about India. I think he is not a Hindustani."

"Now, he has got support from separatists, who always talk about dividing this country. They (separatists) and the most-wanted persons are also appreciating Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Sikhs. When such people, who are also experts in manufacturing bombs, are supporting Rahul Gandhi, then he is the number one terrorist of the country. He is talking like a separatist. There should be a reward for catching him as he is the biggest enemy of the country," he added.

Addressing a gathering of Indian Americans in Washington DC, Gandhi had said that in India, the fight is about whether a Sikh is going to be allowed to wear his turban or a kada or he is going to be able to go to Gurdwara.
