Congress outgoing president Sonia Gandhi, party president-elect Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, party leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel and Anand Sharma are among the campaigners.

This comes a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its list of star campaigners for the upcoming elections. Their list includes names of senior BJP leaders ranging from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Party Chief J P Nadda, among others.

Besides these two parties, CPI(M) was able to get one seat while two independent candidates won two Vidhan sabha seats.

After BJP won the assembly election in Himachal, it appointed Jai Ram Thakur to become the Chief Minister of the state.
