He further said that PM Modi is trying to divert the attention of people by bringing up old issues. “He is trying to put a curtain on the major issues of the country” Surjewala said.

This came after PM Modi spoke on ‘Dark Days of Emergency’ at Birla Matushri Auditorium. Speaking on the same PM said, “Emergency’ was a classic example of how the ‘Constitution of India’ could be abused for the wishes of one family”.

He further said, “The image, identity and footprints of Congress party continues to be influenced by emergency”.
