New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for COVID-19 again, the party's General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh informed on Saturday.
In a tweet, he wrote: "Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for Covid-19 today. She will remain in isolation as per Govt. protocol."
This comes after Sonia Gandhi on Friday met Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav at her 10 Janpath residence to discuss the developments in the state after the 'Mahagathbandhan' assumed power there.
Sonia Gandhi Was Hospitalised In June After Testing COVID Positive
The Congress president was hospitalised in June because of COVID-related issues. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala had informed that she was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital owing to COVID-related issues.
Following her recovery, Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in the National Herald Case last month.
Jairam Ramesh's tweet also comes days after the Congress chief's daughter and party's general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, revealed that she tested positive for Coronavirus. "Tested positive for covid (again!) today. Will be isolating at home and following all protocols," she wrote on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, more details about Sonia Gandhi's health are awaited.
