A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge for hours in connection with the National Herald money laundering case, Kharge on Friday was witnessed wearing black kurta and turban in protest.

Apart from Kharge, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi with a black ribbon cladded on his left arm addressed the press conference amidst the nationwide protest  announced by Congress against price rise and unemployment.

At the conference held on Friday, Rahul Gandhi launched a ferocious attack on the Modi government. He said that the manner in which the Centre has unleashed central agencies against opposition demonstrates India is witnessing the "onset of dictatorship".

Referring to PM Modi as "Hitler" Rahul Gandhi said: "Hitler had also won elections, he too used to win elections. How did he use to do it? He had control of all of Germany's institutions...Give me the entire system, and then I will show you how elections are won."

On Friday, Congress workers and officials launched a nationwide demonstration against rising prices, increases in GST on vital commodities, and unemployment.

Later during the demonstrations, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were also spotted wearing black attires as symbolic gestures of protest against inflation.

Party leaders, including MPs, are protesting by wearing black bands on their arms. The party is also criticizing the government's suspected use of central investigation agencies to target its leaders.

The Delhi Police has refused the Congress permission to stage the rally in the national capital, citing prohibitory orders in the New Delhi region.
