A video of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi dancing with some Haryana women farmers has gone viral on social media. The women farmers in the video are the same ones with whom senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted on July 8 during his visit to paddy fields in Madina village in Haryana's Sonepat. During the visit, some women farmers expressed a desire to see Rahul Gandhi's house in Delhi, but the Congress leader said the government had taken it away, referring to his disqualification from the Lok Sabha and subsequent eviction from his official residence in New Delhi.

According to Jan Satta, Sonia Gandhi invited the women farmers to lunch and arranged transportation for them. Ruchira Chaturvedi, a Congress functionary, shared a video of their interaction and lunch with Sonia Gandhi at the latter's residence on Sunday.

Chaturvedi said on Twitter, "Women farmers from Haryana had expressed their desire to @RahulGandhi to see Delhi and his house. He told them that the Govt has taken away his house."

"But just see what happened next. This video is pure joy." Earlier this morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that farmers are India's strength and that many of the country's problems can be solved "if we listen to them and understand their point of view."

Gandhi posted a video of his visit to the paddy fields on social media.

The approximately 12-minute YouTube video shows him conversing with farmers and their families, ploughing fields, planting paddy saplings, and later breaking bread with the farmers on a string cot.

"Farmers are the strength of India," he tweeted in Hindi, along with a short video clip. "I met two farmers in Sonepat, Haryana: Sanjay Malik and Tasbir Kumar." They have been farming together for many years and have been childhood best friends," he said.
