PM Modi As An Agent Of Adani Got Contracts In Other Countries, Says Congress Chief Kharge
After Kharge was denied permission to speak in the House, the Congress and other opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha staged a walkout on Friday.
New Delhi: Questioning the Modi government's silence regarding Hindenburg Research's allegations of fraud against the Adani Group, the leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday made a slew of accusations, including that Modi assisted Adani in securing international contracts in a variety of industries.
"Shouldn't there be an inquiry into the Adani scam, Shouldn't JPC be formed? Shouldn't there be a discussion on the money that public sector banks have invested in Adani's company? Public money is involved in it. Why does the govt have a problem with taking Adani's name?" asked Kharge.

After Kharge was denied permission to speak in the House, the Congress and other opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha staged a walkout on Friday.
Kharge wanted to bring up the chair's decision to erase some of his observations, but he was turned down on the grounds that he could not read the same remarks that had already been erased.
Members of the opposition protested in support of the opposition leader who wanted to make his point, but the chair did not comply with their request.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that while he had previously granted permission to the Opposition Leader, he could not permit him to raise the same issues that had already been resolved.
After that, Kharge stated that opposition MPs and Congress members, as well as RJD members, were planning a protest walkout.
Prior to the prime minister's Thursday speech in response to the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the House Piyush Goyal said that Kharge should first apologize on behalf of the entire opposition.
