New Delhi: The Congress Party has lodged an FIR for forgery against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President J.P. Nadda and saffron party spokesperson Sambit Patra over the “fake” toolkit shared by the ruling party at the Centre on “COVID-19 mismanagement” and “attributing it to AICC Research Department”.

Venting his ire over the BJP’s move to release a purported Congress ‘toolkit’, Congress national spokesperson Sunil Ahire said the saffron party “shamelessly concocts forgeries” instead of providing relief “when our country is devastated by COVID”.

“BJP is propagating a fake "toolkit" on “COVID-19 mismanagement” & attributing it to AICC Research Department. We are filing an FIR for forgery against @jpnadda & @sambitswaraj When our country is devastated by COVID, instead of providing relief, BJP shamelessly concocts forgeries,” he tweeted sharing the copy of the FIR.

The Congress outburst came as Patra earlier in the day released a ‘Congress toolkit’, saying the grand old party wants to tarnish the image of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sharing the pages on his Twitter account, Patra alleged the Congress prepared multiple toolkits from day one to “tarnish India’s image” and said the only aim is to defame and divert.

“Multiple Tool Kits were prepared by the Congress from Day 1 to tarnish the image of India. Sharing one such Kit on #CentralVistaProject Full of lies & deceit ..only aim of the tool kit is to defame & divert #CongressToolkitExposed,” he posted on the micro-blogging platform.

“Toolkits are not alien to the Congress and their eco-system. Infact, a substantial part of their energy goes into making them. Here is a toolkit on the Central Vista…they make one Toolkit of the other every week and when exposed, they "deny" it. #CongressToolkitExposed,” Patra said in a series of tweets.

Nadda too lambasted the Congress over the toolkit and alleged the Congress is a master at “diving society and spewing venom against others”.

“Dividing society and spewing venom against others….Congress is a master at this. India is seeing Congress’ antics, while the nation is fighting COVID-19. I would urge Congress to go beyond ’Toolkit Models’ and do something constructive. #CongressToolkitExposed,” he tweeted.
