New Delhi: Amid the political slugfest ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has alleged that a mysterious black box was unloaded from Prime Minister Modi’s chopper in Karnataka’s Chitradurga on Friday and was transferred quietly  to a private vehicle, away from the PM’s convoy.

A video of the alleged episode was released on social media by Karnataka Congress. In the video two men can be seen carrying a trunk-like black box from the helicopter and instead of PM’s convoy they can be seen loading it into an Innova car parked at a distance.

The Congress has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission over the box and has asked the poll body to probe the matter.

A Youth congress leader Srivatsa tweeted the video saying: “Suspicious box was offloaded from the PM's helicopter in Chitradurga, Karnataka today. It was rushed to a waiting Innova, which then sped away. The question is, Why was the box not part of security protocol? Why wasn't the Innova part of PM's convoy? Whose car was it?”

Congress leader Anand Sharma said: “Modi went to Chitradurga via helicopter. A big black box is offloaded from the helicopter and is put inside a private car. The car was not a part of the PM’s convoy. The question that arises is where did the box go? Whose care was it? It should be probed to find out what was the content inside the box?”

He further said: “If it did not have cash, then let it be investigated immediately. Let the people know what was loaded on the PM’s helicopter. We are hopeful that the EC will soon investigate the matter and will try to find out the truth.”
