New Delhi: NCPCR chief Priyank Kanoongo has written to chief secretaries of all states and union territories asking them to conduct a detailed inquiry of all government-funded/recognised Madrasas that are admitting non-Muslim children. He also recommended that all such children should get admission to schools for formal education post-inquiry, reported ANI.


"On persual of various complaints received by the Commission from different sources, it is noted that children belonging to Non-Muslim community are attending Government funded/Recognised Madrasas," the letter read.






Kanoongo also advised the secretaries to undertake mapping of all unmapped Madrasas in their States/UTs and admit any/all children into Scholls for availing education with immediate effect.
