Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has announced that the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) will be hiked by Rs. 2.5 in the national capital. This development means that the CNG price has shot up by 11.60 rupees in the past two weeks in New Delhi. Delhiites will now have to pay 71.61 per kg for CNG.
The price of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has also been hiked by Rs 4.5 per standard cubic meter (SCM).
The cost of CNG in July 2021 was Rs. 43.40. Thus, the price of CNG has gone up by nearly 28 rupees in less than a year.
Apart from Delhi, the effect of the increased prices is seen in the national capital (NCR) region as well. From today, the price of CNG in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad will be Rs 74.17 per kg. At the same time, the rates of CNG in Gurgaon have become Rs 79.94 per kg.
Indraprastha Gas Limited ie IGL mainly supplies CNG in Delhi and it has released a list of new increased prices on its website. Apart from Delhi, CNG supplied by IGL has become expensive in many states/cities of the country.
Price increased by Rs 5 in one week and Rs 11.60 in two weeks
Last week, on Thursday i.e. April 7, 2022, the price of CNG was increased by Rs 2.5 per kg, whereas even before that, the prices of CNG were shooting up. Therefore, in two weeks so far, a total increase of Rs 11.60 per kg has been seen in the price of CNG.
PNG also costlier by Rs 4.5
Today, before the increase in the price of CNG in Delhi, an increase of Rs 4.5 SCM has been seen in the price of PNG. On the other hand, CNG became costlier by Rs 5 per kg in Mumbai, Maharashtra yesterday and an increase of Rs 4.5 per cubic meter was seen in the price of PNG in the financial capital.
