New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met industrialist Gautam Adani on Thursday at the State Secretariat, Nabanna. Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee was also present at the meeting. The meeting was held for around one and a half hours and the two discussed investment scenarios in West Bengal and the Bengal Global Business Summit.

After the meeting with the West Bengal CM, Gautam Adani said he will be attending the Bengal Global Business Summit scheduled to be held in April 2022.

In a tweet, the chairman and founder of Adani Group wrote: "Discussed different investment scenarios and the tremendous potential of West Bengal.”

This meeting of Mamata Banerjee came after she recently came back from a two-day visit to Mumbai. The CM during her visit met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and minister in Maharashtra cabinet, Aditya Thackeray. She also attended several events which included an entrepreneurs’ conference.

She was also scheduled to address a conference of industrialists organised by the Young President's Organisation (YPO) which is a US-based global leadership community.

As reported by PTI, Banerjee said that she would invite industrialists attending the conference to the Bengal Global Business Summit that is scheduled to be held next year in April.

“Bengal is the destination for new industries and investments,” said the CM.
