A fire broke out in a rice bran oil mill on Tuesday night in the Sirgitti Industrial Area in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur. According to news agency ANI, the fire broke out at the Shivangi Rice Bran Oil Mill, which sparked panic among the workers at the unit.
Since the area is an industrial zone, there are many factories around the mill. After receiving information about the blaze, the police and the fire brigade swiftly reached the spot.
"A fire was reported in an oil factory. Police reached the spot. The fire has been brought under control using six fire tenders. The employees were safely evacuated. There was no loss of life. The cause of the fire will be investigated," Pooja Kumar, CSP, Bilaspur told ANI.
According to the ANI report, the preliminary report found the fire started near the boiler of the mill. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The workers were safely evacuated. No casualty was reported.
The damage from the fire has caused loss worth crores.
