The case of Pakistani woman Seema Haider coming to India to meet her lover took the country by storm and amid all the development, an Indian woman reached Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend. 35-year-old Anju travelled to Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to meet her one Nasrullah. While people are drawing comparison between her story has to that of Seema Haider, it is important to note that that Anju had legally applied to visit Pakistan.
Now, after the incident came to light, Anju's husband has told news agency ANI that his wife told him she was visiting a friend in Jaipur. The husband, Arvind Kumar, said that he got a call from Anju on Sunday night and she said that she was in Lahore.
"I have no idea why has she gone to Lahore and how did she manage to get the VISA and other stuff. I usually don't touch my wife's phone to check her messages. This is not connected to Seema Haider's case as my wife had all the documents. She informed me that she will return within 2-3 days. I have not registered any complaint to the police." he added.
On being asked if he will stay with his wife, Kumar said that his children will decide if they will all stay with her once she comes back. "This was the first time she went anywhere without informing me. This is cheating. I will call her parents and we will sit together to decide the steps to be taken further. I appeal to the government that if she has all legal documents then she should be allowed to come back," Kumar said expressing his anguish over the incident.
Meanwhile, Bhiwadi ASP Sujit Shankar in Rajasthan said that preliminary findings show that Anju was in touch with a Pakistani man for the last 2-3 years through Facebook and WhatsApp.
"She informed her family members that she is travelling to Amritsar but she crossed over to Pakitan on 21st July. We have not received any formal complaint as of now. She applied for a passport in 2020, but we do not have any further information. Anju, informed her family members that she will return today," the SP told ANI.
He further said, "Prima facie, this can be a matter of love affair, but we can't say anything until concrete evidence is found. We will not take any formal investigation since no complaint has been received so far. There are acts like the Passport Act and others, action can be taken against her if any fake document has been used to cross over. All angles will be investigated if necessary."
