Kolkata: BJP candidate Chandana Bauri amazed everyone when she defeated Sontosh Kumar Mondal of Trinamool Congress by a margin of more than 4,000 votes from Saltora constituency in West Bengal.
30 year old Chandana Bauri is a mother of three and as per reports, owns assets worth just ₹ 31,985, while her husband's assets amount to ₹ 30,311. Her husband a daily wager works as a mason. The couple own 3 cows and 3 goats.

Chandana Bauri herself was a MNREGA worker. Bauri's name was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a previous rally in the Bankura district.
Twitter poured congratulatory messages and deemed her win as inspiring.
"Before the tickets were announced I had no idea that I would be selected as a candidate in the legislative assembly polls. Many people encouraged me to apply for a nomination online, but I did not think I would be able to achieve this feat," she had told news agency ANI in March.
