New Delhi: Daughters of late Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat immersed the ashes of their parents in the Ganga in Haridwar on Saturday evening.


Earlier in the day, daughters of CDS General Rawat, Kritika and Tarini, gathered the ashes of their folks from Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment and arrived at Haridwar to immerse them in the Ganges.






The two had performed the last rituals of their parents on Friday.


CDS General Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were among the 13 people killed in a helicopter crash close to Tamil Nadu's Coonoor on December 8. General Bipin Rawat was incinerated next to each other on a similar fire with his better half Madhulika Rawat with full military distinctions at Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment on Friday.


After the cremation, Yash Vardhan Singh, brother-in-law of General Rawat had informed PTI, "We will pick the ashes early morning tomorrow in a 'kalash' and then head to Haridwar, where the ashes will be immersed in the holy Ganga and some rituals will be performed."


Among those who lost their lives in the crash include General Bipin Rawat's wife, Madhulika Rawat, Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col H Singh, Wg Cdr PS Chauhan, Sqn Ldr K Singh, JWO Das, JWO Pradeep A, Hav Satpal, Nk Gursewak Singh, Nk Jitender, L/Nk Vivek, and L/Nk S Teja.
