Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday claimed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) found nothing in his bank locker after the probe agency checked the deposit box in connection with the alleged liquor scam. While addressing the Delhi Assembly, Sisodia said that he and his family got a written clean chit from the CBI. According to reports, a team of CBI officials arrived that the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Ghaziabad's Sector in Vasundhara to search Sisodia's bank account.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader also slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that false news was planted that property papers were found from his locker during the CBI search.

"We have answered all questions of the Opposition. We can't answer lies being thrown by them. Only items worth Rs 70,000-Rs 80,000 including 'jhunjuna' (a toy) of my son was found in the locker by CBI," Sisodia said during his speech in Delhi Assembly amid uproar by opposition MLAs.

During the search, Sosida along with his wife was present inside the bank.

"Just like my house, nothing was found in my bank locker during the CBI raid. I am happy that I have got a clean chit from CBI and PM Narendra Modi. The CBI officials treated us well, and we also cooperated with them. Truth has won," he said.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the honesty and patriotism of Manish Sisodia stand vindicated in front of the entire nation. He also alleged that the action was triggered by "dirty politics".

"Nothing was found from Manish's home, nothing from his locker. CBI found nothing in its search. The honesty and patriotism of Manish stand vindicated in front of the entire nation.

"It is evident that the entire action was triggered by dirty politics. Hope, this dirty politics will stop and we will be allowed to work," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.

CBI has lodged an FIR against Sisodia and 14 people and entities in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of Delhi government’s Excise Policy 2021-22.

CBI had raided 31 locations, including Sisodia's residence on August 19 in connection with the alleged scam. Sisodia claims that he has been made an accused in a false case to stop the march of Kejriwal, who has emerged as an alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Last week, the AAP leader had claimed that Modi government is acting like a serial killer to eliminate non-BJP state governments and described the CBI FIR against him as 'fake'.
